Smilde Foods in Heerenveen, part of Royal Smilde and producer of chilled salads quiches, sauces, margarines, oils and fats, will strengthen its position for chilled salads on the market.

Royal Smilde in Heerenveen is merging the companies of FanoFineFood BV and Romi Smilfood BV into a single organisation with the name of Smilde Foods BV. Furthermore, Royal Smilde is launching a new and modern corporate identity with a redesigned logo. Effective this coming 17th of May, the activities of FanoFineFood BV and those of Romi Smilfood BV will officially be combined under the new name of Smilde Foods BV. The office of Smilde Foods is established in the head office of Koninklijke Smilde BV at Industrieweg 11 in Heerenveen. The production plants of both companies will remain in Heerenveen, Oosterwolde, and Emmen. The brands of Abee, Bebo, Fano, Novarin, Romi, and Topper will also remain in existence. By combining forces, Smilde Foods strengthens its responsiveness, continuity, and position in the market.

Mr. R.M. Prince has been appointed as the General Manager of FanoFineFood at Oosterwolde, the Netherlands, as per September 25th, 2008. Ronald Prince (48) will continue managing Romi Smilfood B.V., Heerenveen.
